Overview
The Freight Details page provides a comprehensive interface for viewing and managing individual freight packages within the Bristol Maps system. This page allows processors and fleet members to track, update, and share information about shipments.
For fishermen the public notes section is the only field available for update. All other fields require a processor account to edit.

Package Information
The top section of the page displays key information about the freight package:
- Package ID: Unique identifier for the freight item (displayed in the header)
- Current Location: The most recent known location of the package
- Last Updated By: Username of the person who last modified the package
- Created Date: When the package was initially registered in the system
- Last Updated Date: When the package was most recently modified
Updating Package Details
The update section allows you to modify package information:
Basic Information
- Destination: Final delivery location for the package
- Via: Transit route or vessel for delivery
- Recipient: Person or vessel designated to receive the package
- Use the dropdown to select from registered fleet members
- Enable "Use one-time recipient" to specify a non-registered recipient
- Status: Current shipping status
- Options include: EnRoute, LabelCreated, Missing, Error, Delivered, Storage
- Package Type: Category of freight
- Options include: Net Bag, Tote, Box, Letter, Other
- Link to Tender: Associate the package with a specific tender vessel
Location Management
- Zone: Assign the package to a specific storage or processing zone
- Used for warehouse organization and inventory management
Important: After making changes, be sure to save them. Unsaved changes are indicated by a warning message.
Map and Location
The map section provides a visual representation of the package's current location:
Viewing Location
- The map displays the last known location with a marker
- Click on the marker to view additional details
- Use map controls for zooming and panning
Updating Location Manually
- Click anywhere on the map to select a new location
- Click "Update Item Location" to record the new coordinates
- Confirm the update to refresh the location data
Tip: The map automatically centers on the current location when you load the page.
Notes and Documentation
The system supports two types of notes:
Processor Notes
- Internal notes visible only to processors and administrators
- Use for handling instructions, internal tracking information, or special considerations
Public Notes
- Notes visible to all users, including fleet members and recipients
- Use for package contents, handling requirements, or delivery instructions
Best Practice: Be clear and concise in notes, including all relevant dates and reference numbers.
File Attachments
You can attach files to document package contents, condition, or other relevant information:
Adding Files
- Click "Upload File" to select a file from your device
- If on a mobile device with a camera, you can also click "Take Photo" to capture an image directly
Managing Attachments
- All attachments appear in the preview section below the upload buttons
- Click on any attachment to view it
- Use the delete button (×) to remove attachments if needed
Note: File uploads are limited to 10MB per file.
Package History
The history section provides a chronological log of all actions and changes:
Viewing History
- Displays timestamps, update types, and user information for each action
- Shows location updates, information changes, and status changes
- Filter the number of entries using the "Rows to display" dropdown
Exporting History
- Click "Export History" to download the complete history as a CSV file
- Useful for record-keeping or troubleshooting delivery issues
Sharing and Printing
Sharing Package Information
- Click the share icon next to the package ID
- A public link is copied to your clipboard, which can be shared with anyone
- Recipients can view package status without logging in
Sending Email Notifications
- Use the "Send Link" button to email package information directly to recipients
- Email includes a tracking link and current status information
Printing Labels
- Click "Print Label" to generate and print a shipping label
- Labels include package ID, destination, and scannable barcode
- Note: Save any unsaved changes before printing
Tip: For recurring shipments, save frequently used package configurations to streamline future processing.
