Freight Inventory¶
Web portal -- not the Bristol Maps app
This page documents the processor web portal you open in a browser. Fishermen using the app want Freight in the App.
The freight inventory system tracks packages for the commercial fishing fleet -- equipment, supplies, and anything else moving to or from a vessel. It covers the whole life of a package, from label creation to delivery.
The inventory list¶
The main table shows every freight item associated with your account.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Freight ID | Unique identifier for the package. Click it to open the detail page |
| Recipient | Person or vessel designated to receive the freight |
| Status | Current shipping status |
| Freight Type | Category of freight |
| Destination | Final delivery location |
| Current Location | Where the package was last scanned |
| Public Notes | Notes visible to the fisherman |
| Processor Notes | Internal notes for processing staff |
| Last Updated | Date and time of the most recent status update |
| Tag ID | RFID tag identifier, if the package has one |
Table controls¶
- Select rows using the checkboxes
- Sort any column by clicking its header; click again to reverse the direction
- Set how many rows to show at once using the Rows per page dropdown (25, 50, 100, 500)
- Move between pages using the pagination controls
Searching and filtering¶
- Search box -- free text search across every field
- Status filter -- narrow to one shipping status
- Type filter -- narrow to one freight category
Search and filters apply to exports and to Select All, so filtering first is the quickest way to act on a specific group of packages.
Package statuses¶
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| LabelCreated | Package registered but not yet in the shipping system |
| EnRoute | Package is in transit to its destination |
| Storage | Package is being held rather than moving |
| Missing | Package cannot be located, or missed a scan checkpoint |
| Error | Processing or documentation issue that needs attention |
| Delivered | Package has reached its final destination |
| Archived | Package has been archived and is out of the active list |
Your filter dropdown is the definitive list
Statuses are stored as free text rather than a fixed set, so a processor may use values beyond those above. The status filter dropdown in your portal always reflects what is actually in use on your account.
Problem packages¶
The Problem Packages section at the top of the page highlights items needing immediate attention -- typically those in Missing or Error. Filter the section by type using its dropdown, and click any package card to open its detail page.
To work a problem package:
- Check Public Notes for special instructions
- Add what you find to the notes on the detail page
- Contact your logistics coordinator if it does not resolve
Adding a package¶
Required fields:
- Vessel Name
- Destination
- User Name
- Current Location
- Package Type
Notes are optional but worth filling in for anything needing special handling.
Exporting and scanning¶
- Download the filtered packages as CSV, or all packages as CSV
- Scan package QR codes with your device camera to look a package up quickly
Troubleshooting¶
Cannot find a package
- Search on partial information -- vessel name, destination, or tag ID
- Check the Problem Packages section
- Confirm with your fleet management team that the freight is assigned to your account
Need to update package information
Click the Freight ID to open the detail page and edit it there.
Package shows the wrong status
Check Last Updated to see how current the information is. If it is stale, contact your freight coordinator for manual verification.
