Tenders in the App

In the app -- not the web portal

This page covers tenders as you see them in the Bristol Maps app. Processor staff working in the browser want Tender Management instead.

The Tenders tab lists your processor's tenders, tells you how far each one is from you, and can put them on your chart.

Finding it

Open the Tools tab, sign in, and find the processor section. Tap the Tenders tab. The section header reads Current Tenders.

If you belong to more than one processor fleet, the tender list follows whichever processor is selected in the dropdown above the tabs.

The tender list

Each row shows:

Field Description
Name The tender's name
Status The tender's current state, as set by the processor
Map Jump to that tender's position on the chart
Distance: How far the tender is from your current position
Updated time When the tender's information was last changed
Notes: Any notes the processor has added

While the list is loading you will see Tenders Loading.... If nothing matches, No tenders found.

Searching and filtering

Control Description
Search tenders... Filters the list as you type
Filter by Status: Show only tenders in a particular state. All shows everything
Show Inactive Tenders: Include tenders the processor has marked inactive
Items per page: with Previous / Next Step through a long list

The in-app help describes it as: search by name, status, or notes; use the status filter to show specific tender states; tap any tender to view full details and location; and distance shows how far each tender is from your current location.

Tenders on the chart

The Show Tender Locations on Map switch in the processor section draws the selected processor's tenders on the chart. See Sharing with a Processor for the reverse direction -- putting your own boat on the processor's screen.

Not every tender broadcasts

A tender only appears on the chart if its position is being shared. Tenders without a public position still show in the list, just without a distance or a Map button.

Tender detail page

Tap a tender to open Tender Details. It shows a photo if the processor has uploaded one, then:

Field Description
Name and status badge The tender's name, with its status underneath
Description The processor's description of the tender
ADF&G Number The tender's ADF&G number
MMSI The tender's MMSI, used to match it to AIS
Distance How far it is from you, when a position is available
Location Its position, when the processor publishes it
Notes Free-text notes from the processor

Two timestamp lines below the grid tell you when the tender's information and its position were each last updated. Read the position timestamp before you run to a tender -- an old fix is an old fix.

Show on Map at the bottom centres the chart on the tender. It only appears when a position is available.
