Fishing Documents

Bristol Maps carries a small library of ADF&G PDFs -- statistical area maps and salmon forecasts -- so you can pull up a district chart or a reporting-area map without going looking for it on a website.

Opening the library

Go to the Tools tab and tap Documents. The Document Store popup opens. Close dismisses it.

Documents are grouped by fishery. Tap Expand on a group to see what is in it, then tap View on a document to open it.

What is in the library

Group Description
Bristol Bay Maps and documents related to Bristol Bay.
Prince William Sound Maps and documents related to PWS and Copper river
South East Alaska Maps and documents related to South East Alaska.

Bristol Bay

Salmon forecasts for 2024 and 2025, plus ADF&G statistical maps showing delivery areas and boundary lines for Nushagak, Nushagak Set net, Egegik, Kvichak, Togiak, and Ugashik.

Prince William Sound

Salmon forecasts for 2024 and 2025, plus ADF&G statistical maps for the Copper River and for the Eastern, Northern, Coghill, North Western, Eshamy, South Western, Montague, South Eastern, and Unakwik districts.

South East Alaska

ADF&G statistical maps for Juneau, Ketchikan, Petersburgh, Sitka, and Yakutat, plus a chart covering all of Southeast.

Viewing a document

Tap View. On Android the PDF opens in your device's PDF viewer. On other platforms it opens in a viewer inside the app.

Documents are downloaded to your device so they are available without a connection. If you tap View on one the app has not fetched yet, you get:

Document not found. Attempting to download. Please try again later.

The download starts in the background. Give it a moment on a good connection and try again.

Fetch what you need before you leave the dock

Open each document you expect to want while you still have signal. Once it has been downloaded it stays on the device and opens offline.

Check the year

The library carries documents by year -- the forecasts are labelled with theirs. Statistical area maps change less often but do change. Nothing in this library replaces the current season's emergency orders and announcements; for those see Notifications & Announcements.
