Autopilot¶
In the app: Settings > Autopilot – “Go to waypoint, follow route, NMEA autopilot output”
Beta: this group only appears when Beta Options is on (Settings › Advanced & Development).
Go to a waypoint or follow a saved route, and send the steering to your autopilot. On desktop these settings are under Settings › Devices & Connections › Autopilot Output, and navigation is under Data › Autopilot….
Settings¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Go To Waypoint / Follow Route | Start navigating to a waypoint or along a route; shows cross-track error, bearing and distance, with Next, Previous and Stop. |
| Send steering to autopilot | Sends APB, RMB, XTE, BWC and BOD once a second while navigating. Off by default; asks you to accept a safety notice the first time. |
| Send to connection | The NMEA gateway connection the autopilot listens on (it must be two-way). |
| Also send to Wi-Fi GPS clients | Adds the steering sentences to the “Share my GPS over Wi-Fi” server (port 10110). Mobile only. |
| Keep steering in the background | Keeps the gateway connection and GPS running when the screen locks, so steering continues. On by default; turn off to void output whenever the app leaves the screen. Mobile only. |
| Capture Helm Control Messages | Records what your autopilot’s helm control (for example a Garmin GHC) sends when you press its buttons, to share with support. |
| Talker ID | GP (default), EC or II, for autopilots that only accept one talker. |
